We are proud to be supporters of The Sleep Council, an organisation which devotes considerable time and effort to providing the public with valuable information about beds and selecting the right type of bed.
We recommend anyone looking to buy a bed to take a good look at the Bed Buyer’s Guide from The Sleep Council as its excellent advice helps you find the right type of bed to suit your needs. It’s not always straightforward to know what to look for when selecting a bed, and the Guide gives you very useful hints to consider before purchasing.
Not only does The Sleep Council provide guidance on choosing a bed but it also provides excellent information about sleep in general, and on the best known ways to enjoy more relaxing and deeper sleep.
The Sleep Council has been established since 1995. Its consumer education arm aims to:
• Raise awareness of the importance of a good night’s sleep to health and wellbeing.
• Provide helpful advice and tips on how to improve sleep quality.
• Provide helpful advice on choosing the right bed for optimum sleeping comfort.
The Sleep Council produces a number of information leaflets and guides – the main one being the Bed Buyer’s Guide. The Guide is packed with information about how to choose a new bed and what’s available in the marketplace. It is frequently requested by GP surgeries, osteopaths and similar.
Other leaflets include: the Sleep Good Feel Good Guide and the Goodnight Guide for Children.
The Sleep Council has also worked with other bodies in the production of useful information leaflets and guides on beds, such as Back to Bed – a guide to bed-buying for back pain sufferers, produced by BackCare, the national organisation for healthy backs.
